The popular 30's hit musical has landed in Sydney and thanks to Nuffnang we were able to catch a sneaky show.

If you're into a light and easy night with a few laughs and some great song's you'll sing out loud in the car home.
It's the musical renown for the hit songs 'Anything Goes', 'You're the top' and 'I get a kick out of you'. With a gorgeous cast this time around including the gorgeous Caroline O'Connor, who absolutely owned the stage and hit every note perfectly. Other cast members such as Todd McKenny (who can actually dance, really well !) and Claire Lyon taking a break from her role as Christine Daae.
This was my Outfit of the Night that evening and the beautiful opera house made for a gorgeous setting.
There were give aways of Cadbury's new Coco, they were delish!
I'd highly recommend to come here for a great night out with a few friends or family, stop by the Opera Bar before hand to get a quality bite to eat or for some pre show cocktails. I couldn't take any photos of the show itself so I think you'll just have to go see it yourself to see just how creative they were with the set and all the costuming.
I'd like to Thank Nuffnang and Anything Goes for giving me the opportunity to see this fantastic show.

We went to Rosehill Racecourse on a sunny Saturday to celebrate our friends 25th birthday.
There were fascinators, suits, champagne and bets all about that day, it was a great way to bring us into the Spring season.
It was a gorgeous day and now I definitely can't wait for the rest of Spring!

Now it might not seem like a big deal but after leaving high school and getting in the habit of being overly anxious about myself that the whole decision has taken me 3 years to actually make this decision. I went and saw David Lee from My Hills Dentist and his recommendation was to go with one of their braces options called "6 Month Smiles". 6 Month smiles was a good options as it's 'quick', as opposed to going to an orthodontist and having braces for 4 years, and clear so it's not too obvious. There was an option to choose colored bands, but for the time being I think i'm going to stick with the clear ones for now. The surgery was gorgeous, it had great big windows letting all this natural light in and was very clean and lively. All the staff there were super friendly and the actual surgery itself was pretty big compared to the last dental surgeries I've been to. It will overall take anywhere between 5-8 months depending on my desired finished stage and how my teeth will naturally react to movement On the day of my cementation I had Geneva as my nurse and Davinder the Hygienist cementing my braces on. Dr David Lee came in once or twice to see how the whole thing was going and give overall direction to his team. The cementing appointment took about an hour and a half to have everything completely cemented on. The appointment wasn't particularly taxing or painful as there was a lot of rest time in between, they put in this big plastic thing around my mouth so i didn't have to put much effort to keep my mouth open the whole time. The biggest thing for myself is not being able to bite into things for the duration of the braces (no burgers or kebabs for me D: ) I don't want to be breaking my brackets left, right and centre so we'll see how long i can last. As I'm writing this i've already had one break off :(
The appointment was pain free and as I got up and got my lips used to this new addition, it was bulky but a lot less than I expected.
At the moment I'm still trying to get used to smiling, talking's been fine and thus far no lisp! Pain wise after the appointment , the teeth definitely feel like they have pressure on them but not really that much pain but it is a little tender biting at the moment. Although I'm trying to be super careful right now as I'm biting on my brackets and can't close my teeth together.
I do need to go back to reassess everything and how my bite's going so hopefully I'll be getting back to chewing soon!
My estimated release date will be around March/April! I'll release another post then to show the movement and the final finishes. Let me know in the comments if you've ever been mulling about something for an extended period of time. xx Labels: australia, baulkham hills, braces, david lee, dental, dentist, girl, hills area, my hills dentist, orthodontics, six month smiles, Sydney, update
Inspired by the absolutely amazing Finn Harries (www.jacksgap.com) and his keen taste of music.
Music Monday is my series of favourite music or amazing diamonds that I've found during the week. I'll try as much as I can to post consistently however I can't entirely promise every monday every time.
Hope you enjoy this, let me know what you think and let me know if you have any suggestions
Farewell (Nujabes Tribute) - Witness
Often (Kyogo Remix) - The Weeknd
The Best Strawberry(Chi Duly Remix) - Drake and Coldplay
Thinking Out Loud - Ed Sheeran
Starting with Farewell by Witness we have a strong piano melody that is repeated throughout the song. This lovely little song has a beautiful air and lightness to it as well as a strong beat and rhythm to it, as an instrumental it's one of those gorgeous thinking songs. This is the type of music I listen when I'm having a bit of 'me' time when I can really get out and be on my own and just have a breather and empty my mind. Next is a Weeknd remix of Often by Kyogo, mixing Abel's magical voice and adding that kick and beat to it brings feelings of summer nights and chilling. It gets me excited for the upcoming warmer seasons and just lying around being lazy in the sun and sand. The lyrics however aren't quite as innocent and i'm sure you aren't either if you're listening to this :P This is an interesting remix between Best I Ever Had by Drake and Strawberry Swing by Coldplay. Initially looking at the combo in writing I instantly just thought "nope, no, nada, no, it'll never work" and as it started I was like "see it sounds like some sort of rap country song" but when the beat dropped it oddly worked really well! The backing of strawberry swing intertwines really well to Drake's song and really brings a bit more emphasis to the "sweetness" that he implies in his lyrics. In another direction, I've been a big Ed Sheeran fan he's in my 'Tea' playlist for the more quiet days with a book and a bit of rain. Ed Sheeran's new X album is absolutely delighting to hear, being the album I got after Coldplay's ghost stories it was nice to have a lighter feel through the speakers. This song is one of the sweetest things I've ever come across and I wanted to grab my loved ones and just dance to this song. It really warmed me up. What have you been chilling to lately? xx Labels: 2014, australia, coldplay, drake, ed sheeran, listening, mash up, music monday, playlist, remix, september, the weeknd, witness It was getting to a stage where work and uni and just everything seemed to be getting a bit too much and I felt like I needed to hide away and really get away from it all. Being just the tail end of winter it was very cool up in the mountains sitting around a high of 2 or 3 degrees. Utilising the most of the winter season to be cosy and hide in a blanket and the warmth of a fire and a mug of tea sounded like the RnR I needed so onward to the Blue Mountains we went!
Lachlan being the best driver the whole way up
. Leading up to the weekend one of the owners of our cottage, Belinda, kept me well informed and was super friendly and professional in every email, providing all the details of our stay to come and keeping some treats to herself. We stayed in her adorable Tricklebeck Cottage about 5 minutes drive from the town Blackheath.
Upon opening the door we were greeted by some relaxing jazz music, the lights on and happy and a lot of delicious goodies. Belinda and Deb really know how to treat their guests and we truly felt special and welcomed from the second we drove in.
As well as the above they provided us with more than enough provisions to have a delicious breakfast the next day. In the fridge were more little treats, one of which was some fresh apple juice; I have never had apple juice taste that delicious!
During the afternoon we had some rainy nights which we spent cuddled up by the fire going with some tea and a movie or a nice soak in the spa bath. Hearing the rain on the roof and being warm and munching on roasted marshmallows has got to be one of the most satisfying things ever.
We explored the small town of blackheath and took in all it's little gems and honesty.
An old theatre (The Victory Theatre) in town was an iconic part of the town, an old large movie theatre that has been shelled out and revamped as a Antique centre and cafe.
The place was full of surprises and amazing little quirks from the past, we spent ages in there just exploring and looking at some great little pieces.
Back at the cottage Belinda and Deb had left us a little guide for the best things to do around the area. We heeded their advice and went on some gorgeous walks looking over Megalong Valley, visiting some alpacas and stopping by some iconic cafes. If it weren't for their advice we would never have seen some amazing places.
One of our bushwalking highlights was "Mermaids Cave", the walk was short but steep and the sight was absolutely breathtaking. It took us a while to find but the all the uturns in the world were worth this visit.
Going down into the cave I felt like it was out of a fantasy story stepping down on stone carved steps into this secret rainforest.
The cave led to an enclosure with a cascading waterfall, trickling into multiple lagoons.
The whole area was enclosed by natural rock protecting it from the elements. We were lucky enough to go when no - one was around making the whole experience personally memorable.
Definitely a highlight out of all the walks we did during our trip!
After a long morning of many bushwalks we read and heard all the raves of a near by tea house so we treated ourselves to some afternoon tea at the Megalong Tea Rooms.
The place was cosy and warm, a great welcome from a cold and tiring morning and the table setting and atmosphere felt just like home. The tea rooms held an air of tradition to it and all the staff had a great smile on their face and were happy to recommend.
I had the famed Apple Pie and Lachlan had Fruit toast with Ricotta and Honey. Accompanied by an Irish breakfast and Orange Pekoe the tea house was a great wind down from an active morning and was a great prequel to a well deserved soak and nap.
All in all the trip was a great escape away from the world and to spend some time just exploring and winding down in the mountains was just what I needed.
The weekend went away far too quickly and next time I definitely want to stay longer.
Enjoy guys xx
