  OOTN: Anything Goes
The popular 30's hit musical has landed in Sydney and thanks to Nuffnang we were able to catch a sneaky show.

97d0d587de76b346fa01c1fe6564c41c1110e6dee4fb3ba38c

If you're into a light and easy night with a few laughs and some great song's you'll sing out loud in the car home.

It's the musical renown for the hit songs 'Anything Goes', 'You're the top' and 'I get a kick out of you'. With a gorgeous cast this time around including the gorgeous Caroline O'Connor, who absolutely owned the stage and hit every note perfectly. Other cast members such as Todd McKenny (who can actually dance, really well !) and Claire Lyon taking a break from her role as Christine Daae.

This was my Outfit of the Night that evening and the beautiful opera house made for a gorgeous setting.

There were give aways of Cadbury's new Coco, they were delish!

I'd highly recommend to come here for a great night out with a few friends or family, stop by the Opera Bar before hand to get a quality bite to eat or for some pre show cocktails. I couldn't take any photos of the show itself so I think you'll just have to go see it yourself to see just how creative they were with the set and all the costuming.
I'd like to Thank Nuffnang and Anything Goes for giving me the opportunity to see this fantastic show.

  Liebster Award
Nominated by Siree and Talyssa of The Hidden Thimble, thanks so much you girls are beauts.

Guidelines
1. Thank the person who nominated you.
2. Answer the questions from your nominator.
3. Nominate bloggers who have less than 500 followers. (Basing this on Bloglovin, if not then Instagram “microblog”)
4. Create 11 new questions.

5. Notify your nominees through social media

1. What’s the story behind your blog name?
My Blog name came from a last minute made up story to make a little girl smile, the story was based on the adventures of a little fox called Jayybear who thought she was a big ferocious bear. It picked up as a nickname and a username for most of my social media. I always felt like occasionally I was that little fox taking on the world.
2. What does a normal day in your life look like?
A normal day means a day at work or uni followed by study for a few hours, after a good feed I finish the night with a cup of tea and browse through youtube videos or the blogosphere to see what's going on. Most nights if I'm not held up by studying I'll be blogging later at night or editing photos. My favorite thing to do is to look up trending restaurants or reviews for my Eatventures blog.
3. Tea or coffee?
Both. Start the day with a strong coffee followed by an English Breakfast tea half way through the morning. Later in the afternoon top it off with another coffee and end the night with another tea. Current favorite brews are Sydney Breakfast, Gorgeous Geisha and Sleep Tight (T2 teas)
4. Why did you start your blog?
I wanted to get involved in such a avid and fun community and get amongst the world of friendly faces. I was excited to share my opinions and ideas about the products that are available out there to the community, I was heavily influenced and inspired by bloggers already and this was my way to give back to their inspiration.
5. What’s the best advice you have ever gotten?

To write from the heart rather than what is trending. By letting go of what everyone else is doing and doing your own thing is how I found myself blogging in the first place.
6. What is your favorite post that you’ve written? (Please provide link!)

My favourite post is Alleydays because it includes a couple of my closest friends messing around with cameras and trying to get the best shot. It's a past time of ours to take photos no matter the occasion, way before social media took over and we've continued to do the same ever since.
7. What is the most exciting thing about blogging for you?

The most exciting thing has always been learning new things and seeing my readers respond to my posts. It always feels like a ramble into thin air until I get recommendations, meet bloggers or receive comments. And all these things blow my mind away, because I'd never imagine my writing on a screen could bring me somewhere or influence me or others so much.
8. What’s your favourite social media platform?

Definitely instagram.
It's such an easy app and there's updates all the time to see what's new and what's trending.
The app makes it super easy to go through and explore in this app compared to anything else.
9. Do you think of yourself as an introvert or an extrovert?

200% Introvert.
Sitting behind a computer screen is the most social i get most nights and blogger meet ups are extremely terrifying to me. If being a blogger has taught me anything, it's to conquer my fears.
10. What or who is your current obsession?

My current obsession is the lipstick "Velvet Teddy" I honestly can't get enough of it and it's just perfect for any weather.

11. Where do you want to take your blog next (taken from Hidden thimble as I don't think we had a question 11)

I really love my blog, i'm concentrating on developing my food blog at the moment and i feel like this blog is where i get to release all my other interests. For now i just want to have fun and share everything with my readers and grow with them too.

Here are my questions!
1. Who's your blogging inspiration ?
2. What time of day do you blog the most?
3. What's your guilty pleasure ?
4. What has blogging changed about you ?
5. If you moved to another city, where would it be?
6. How do you spend your me time?
7. Are you a caller or texter ?
8. What blogging platform do you use and why?
9. What skill would you like to learn in the future?
10. What camera do you use?
11. Describe yourself in one word.

Nominees you are:
1. Renata V
2. Ayytown
4. Shura

Hey guys,
Sorry I don't have any detailed photos but I thought I'd share this from my weekend outing to the Races.

Not sure what my gorgeous girl Sange was wearing but doesn't she look great :)

We went to Rosehill Racecourse on a sunny Saturday to celebrate our friends 25th birthday.
There were fascinators, suits, champagne and bets all about that day, it was a great way to bring us into the Spring season.

It was a gorgeous day and now I definitely can't wait for the rest of Spring!

  Brace Yourselves! (pic heavy)
Hey guys,
So I did something I've been mulling over for such a long time, I got Orthodontics.
Now it might not seem like a big deal but after leaving high school and getting in the habit of being overly anxious about myself that the whole decision has taken me 3 years to actually make this decision.

'

I went and saw David Lee from My Hills Dentist and his recommendation was to go with one of their braces options called "6 Month Smiles".
6 Month smiles was a good options as it's 'quick', as opposed to going to an orthodontist and having braces for 4 years, and clear so it's not too obvious.
There was an option to choose colored bands, but for the time being I think i'm going to stick with the clear ones for now.

The surgery was gorgeous, it had great big windows letting all this natural light in and was very clean and lively. All the staff there were super friendly and the actual surgery itself was pretty big compared to the last dental surgeries I've been to.

It will overall take anywhere between 5-8 months depending on my desired finished stage and how my teeth will naturally react to movement
On the day of my cementation I had Geneva as my nurse and Davinder the Hygienist cementing my braces on. Dr David Lee came in once or twice to see how the whole thing was going and give overall direction to his team.

The cementing appointment took about an hour and a half to have everything completely cemented on. The appointment wasn't particularly taxing or painful as there was a lot of rest time in between, they put in this big plastic thing around my mouth so i didn't have to put much effort to keep my mouth open the whole time.

The biggest thing for myself is not being able to bite into things for the duration of the braces (no burgers or kebabs for me D: ) I don't want to be breaking my brackets left, right and centre so we'll see how long i can last. As I'm writing this i've already had one break off :(

The appointment was pain free and as I got up and got my lips used to this new addition, it was bulky but a lot less than I expected.

At the moment I'm still trying to get used to smiling, talking's been fine and thus far no lisp!
Pain wise after the appointment , the teeth definitely feel like they have pressure on them but not really that much pain but it is a little tender biting at the moment. Although I'm trying to be super careful right now as I'm biting on my brackets and can't close my teeth together.
I do need to go back to reassess everything and how my bite's going so hopefully I'll be getting back to chewing soon!

Newly braced

My estimated release date will be around March/April! I'll release another post then to show the movement and the final finishes.

Let me know in the comments if you've ever been mulling about something for an extended period of time.

xx

  GETAWAY @ The Star/The Darling

Hey everyone!
If you follow my instagram you'd see that I had a recent getaway to The Star and needless to say it was absolutely luxurious!
Last time I went to the star I was walking through the casino all starry eyed learning how to play card games and wondering how expensive their electricity bill must be for the casino alone, this time was a little different.
We stayed in the Jewel Suite of the Darling and made that home for a couple of nights while we soaked in the beauty of our lovely city in all its grandeur.
The staff and members of the Star were all incredibly helpful and friendly and the overall design of the hotel really left us in awe.

The suite had these amazing floor to ceiling windows that left the whole place beautifully lit and a really interesting asian-esque vibe to it.
The towel robes were the best I've ever used and they sell them as well for about $125, at the time I was thoroughly considering it.
The staff were lovely although they tried to turn down our room around 3 times after it already had been but they were always so polite and apologetic every time.

Dinner was at Umi Sushi the second night and wow is their Sashimi plate absolutely delicious!
I've never tried flathead and Scampi sashimi before so that was an interesting twist and I'm always excited to try something new! As always Sashimi never disappoints but the oyster marinade was just to die for, that lemony soy sauce and spring onion mixture was just amazing. Umi Sushi usually is bustling but on this particular Sunday night they were quiet, they had a great Miso and the range of rolls was different and unique. To our dismay some things are seasonal so we didn't quite get to try all the things but we're definitely keen to go back again.

We dabbled in a bit of the shopping as both Zara and Oroton were on great sales.
Lachlan managed to snap up some great buys at Zara but as always I was just completely duped of sizes which is always sad.

On our last day we were strolling around the Food court of The Star and decided to try out Ribs & Burgers. They did not disappoint and certainly one of the most fancy places I've come across in a food court. At first we were a bit concerned about the price but upon receiving our food and trying it, for the amount of food and quality you receive it, it's definitely worth it. The onion rings were not as I expected, I was expecting chunky thick rings covered in batter (I'm not a huge onion fan) but instead got these lightly fried thinly sliced onion rings which surprised me but the onions were nice and sweet and that aioli was to die for.
You could tell that Ribs and Burgers use quality products and the food is well worth the price.
Another place to cross off the list!

We later went to Messina Gelato and all I can say is that it's a must visit, Salted Caramel and White chocolate oh my.
They make their own gelato every day and every flavor is created on site. , Eg. Apple Pie flavored gelato is made after an actual apple Pie is made and incorporated into the gelato by hand.

A visit to the star, whether your into the gamble, want a dance or a big foodie and relaxer like me is definitely something you want to cross off your books.
Let me know your experiences there in the comments below.

xx.

Winter hasn't been too bad this season and this year I've been sticking with simple and basics cos I'm saving the $$$'s so my buys have to last the trends.
Neutrals will be in forever and ever and I can never get enough of them but that pop of color is the one to make you stand out.
Special mention to my mum for knitting me this infinity scarf, I've been wearing it non stop!

Din Tai Fung & 19 Biennale - MCA
On a rainy Sunday we thought we might take one of our favorites a visit and have a gander at the 19th Biennale exhibiting at the MCA.
Once described as "World's Tastiest Dumpling" Din Tai Fung is definitely one of my favorite eats in Sydney. I have never once gone in and came out disappointed only full and satisfied.
The service at Din Tai is impeccable, the system that they have is flawless and every staff member is always on the ball and willing to help.

Hot and Sour Soup with Shredded Pork
The infamous and delicious Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings)
Definitely one of my favorites
Nice big cup of hot tea and Beans and minced pork.

Our suggestive looking Mango dessert.

---
At the MCA 'You imagine what you desire' is the theme for this year's Biennale.
Not photographed, my favorite part of the exhibition was a big empty room with projections of nature and viewers are invited to lie down and soak it all in.
As we went around the museum I found this year's combinations of work at the gallery to be surprisingly simple yet very empowering.

Quick selfie break.

I found that the works seemed to be very colorful this year, simple and also relatively light.
Atmospherically it felt like a play house and you didn't really have to stare at anything too long and ponder your reality, identity or overall position in life, it was light, simple and warming.

xx.
